Proximity Sensor problems in Nokia Lumia 510 does not normally occur unless the phone is severely mishandled or water damaged. It is highly unlikely that you will ever get a malfunctioning proximity sensor but I still thought it is worth mentioning.

When you receive or make a call the LCD screen stays lit but when you place your phone next to your ear it automatically get dark to save battery.
